INTERPRETATION

More than a hundred matchups are compared at once, so one or two of them can look clearly better or worse purely by chance. Check the interval and the number of games before reading much into a single row.

How the draft check works

For each enemy you pick, the checker shows Pudge's win rate in public matches where he faced that hero, the number of games and the 95% Wilson interval. Source: OpenDota hero matchups, not filtered by patch.

Reference: Pudge's win rate across all his matchup games in the same data, 50.7% (his wins divided by his games, summed over every enemy hero). It can differ from the overall win rate on the Pudge page, because the matchup data covers a different, smaller set of matches. The chip next to each enemy shows the difference in percentage points, and it says "Favorable" or "Unfavorable" only when the whole 95% interval is above or below the reference.

Draft signal: the games-weighted mean of those differences over the counted enemies, Σ games × (win rate − reference) ÷ Σ games. The range applies the same weights to the lower and upper ends of each enemy's interval. It is wide on purpose: one match can count in several of the picked matchups, so the games are not independent.

Sample threshold: an enemy with fewer than 30 games against Pudge is marked "Low sample" and left out of the signal. The matchup pages use the same threshold before they draw any verdict.

Item check: only Black King Bar, because whether an ability pierces spell immunity is the one item-related mechanic in the ability data (OpenDota game constants). Escapes, teleports and other mechanics are not tagged in the data, so the checker gives no advice about them.

There is no "pick score": one number would hide the sample sizes and intervals behind it.

What it ignores: the signal adds up one-on-one matchups. How the enemies work together, your allies, roles, lanes, rank and player skill are not in it, so it summarizes past games and does not predict this one. For both teams at once, use Draft Odds.
